What is window tinting?
Window tinting is the process of applying a thin film to the interior side of a vehicle’s windows to reduce heat, glare, and UV exposure while enhancing privacy and appearance.
Is window tint legal in Arizona?
Yes, but Arizona has legal limits:
- Front side windows must allow 33% or more visible light in (VLT).
- Rear and back windows can be darker, and you’re allowed to tint the entire windshield above the AS-1 line (top strip).
- Always check with a professional installer to make sure you’re within Arizona state law.

Can window tint be removed?
Yes. Tint can be professionally removed without damaging the glass. Old or bubbling tint should always be removed properly before applying new film.
Does window tint interfere with electronics or GPS?
- Metalized tint can interfere with GPS, cell phone, or radio signals.
- Ceramic and carbon tints do not interfere with electronics.
What type of tint is best for Arizona?
